Surgery clinics

We offer a range of clinics and services at the surgery. There are some tasks you can do, such as health reviews, using our online forms.

If you would like to attend any of the below clinics, please contact us.

Health promotion

Prevention is better than cure. Health promotion clinics are provided to prevent disease before it happens. Please come when you are invited.

Examples include:

  • Annual reviews of asthma, diabetes and other long term conditions. (Review forms can be found on our online forms page)
  • Antenatal clinics, and mother and baby checks.
  • Vaccinations for children and adults.
  • Over 40 and over 75 health checks.
  • Cervical smears for women aged 25-64 years (at 3 yearly intervals).

Family planning / Sexual health

We provide various types of contraceptives including the morning after pill, and hormone injections. All consultations are confidential, including advice for patients under 16 years of age. If you have been advised to, please complete our contraceptive pill review form.

Minor surgery

Joint injections and other procedures are given in normal surgery hours. Please book a double appointment for this.

Travel vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to complete our travel risk assessment form. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial enquiry as early as possible – at least six weeks before you travel – as an appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your vaccination appointment needs to be at least two weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
